They wouldn't have oc-"curd" to me. :-) Until recently, I didn't even appreciate the differences of flavor between lemons and limes, but now I can see that there are whole families of flavors contained in the varieties of each fruit.Jeff Blumenkrantzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881887349784454378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4524062748813929922.post-33406160120684482342009-09-28T16:37:52.810-04:002009-09-28T16:37:52.810-04:00Now that you have the basic idea for lemon curd, e...Now that you have the basic idea for lemon curd, expand it by trying different lemons (yes, they DO taste different-compare a "standard" big old yellow lemon to a Meyer lemon). I have also made lime curd with key limes and kumquat curd with (naturally) kumquats. Both were big hits and got requests for "carry out" from friends.
Rossross2752https://www.blogger.com/profile/07544411880236899545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4524062748813929922.post-85079349074444221292009-09-27T20:58:26.971-04:002009-09-27T20:58:26.971-04:00Michael, thanks for the idea of adding chocolate s...Michael, thanks for the idea of adding chocolate sauce to Angel Food Cake. Turns out Devils Food Cake (at least on marthastewart.com) isn't really the same idea as Angel Food Cake (i.e. with a million egg whites and very little flour). It's basically just a chocolate cake. So chocolate sauce on AFC is a good way to appease the chocolate whores like me.

Brett, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!

And Annie, you have to try it. They will be so excited and you will feel like a million bucks! Wouldn't it be a treat if I made this for them!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831556246468809388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4524062748813929922.post-81831405687847563862009-09-25T09:37:49.401-04:002009-09-25T09:37:49.401-04:00I never had angel food cake until I made a Martha ...I never had angel food cake until I made a Martha recipe (from one of the magazines) a few months ago and like you, I was blown away by how good it was. I thought it would be dry and tasteless and it wasn't at all. I love it when Martha opens your eyes to something new and delicious!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4524062748813929922.post-53325185973839850142009-09-23T11:27:53.541-04:002009-09-23T11:27:53.541-04:00Jeff,

Now when I make one in Chicago, people act like it's exotic since the only angel food cakes around here are rubbery grocery store versions.

As for the sticking cake part, there is no way to avoid it...you've got a protein and a sugar and they love to stick.

So glad this favorite from my childhood was a hit. And if you are a chocolate lover, you'll be amazed at how yummy a good chocolate syrup is drizzled over angel food cake.

Happy Eating,
MichaelKirbleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17446370782059216813noreply@blogger.com
